Jane is a Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA, holding full membership of the Australian Psychological Society and of the EMDR Association of Australia.
Jane holds the following degrees:
Doctor of Clinical Psychology, with Distinction, University of Newcastle, U.K.
Master of Science in Social Research, University of Bath, U.K.
Bachelor of Science in Psychology with honours, University of Durham, U.K.
Bachelor of Science in English & Business Management, Beijing International Studies University, P.R.China
THERAPY
Jane's special interest is Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). You are welcome to attend in person or via zoom.
Before your first consultation, you are invited to complete a comprehensive set of questionnaires, this allows Jane to understand you and make plans for treatment, it also saves nearly two sessions of time needed for assessment, thus saving clients' cost as Jane studies the results in her own time. Feedbacks from clients indicate that they appreciate getting therapy started before meeting in person and that answering the questions felt reflective and worthwhile.
Jane draws from evidence-based therapy models including: Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).
Jane tracks her clients' progress closely each session and seek their feedback on the therapeutic relationship, problem resolution and the effectiveness of strategies used. She then makes adjustments to support the clients to achieve the best possible outcome.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS
Jane provides supervision for registered psychologists or psychotherapists for professional development, in person or via zoom. Jane holds STAP certificate of completion. Please email enquiries to Jane@psychologistbrisbanecbd.com
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing is an evidence-based therapy, aiming to reduce the impacts of trauma . For research evidence of EMDR please visit emdr.com
Jane received training with EMDR Institute Australia, completing Level One & Two, Structural Dissociation and the Master Class.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is an evidence-based therapy that develops mindfulness skills in order to reduce the control of unhelpful thoughts and emotions, therefore enabling a life that is lived in line with one's values and long term goals.
